The First of many mind blowing creations by our new super collective - PIRATES, heres the final still image and timelapse, enough said , just watch......
The ambition of CIA’s newest signing, the Pirates, is to create
the largest most breathtaking creations ever seen, the mystical and
often hidden world of graffiti and street art is about to be
turned on its head by this new team of creative talent.
Rather than lurking in the shadows and staying anonymous, the
Pirates want to be seen everywhere and by everyone, with
collaborations with some of the greatest brands on the cards,
the pirates are about to reclaim the streets, one wall at a time.
Working across all mediums and breaking all boundaries, you wont
have to look too hard before you see a PIRATES creation.
In light of this and with projects this ambitious we wanted to show
you exactly what they can do.
Jimi Crayon who set up Pirates, along with film maker Dave Graham
of Stereofarm, and a whole motley crew of other artists (Pirates) including
Jamie Brown, Jiggery Pokery, Stika, Mr P & Alfa, plus
musicians (Graffiti6) & venue owners (Village Underground) ,
helped to create what we hope is interesting, entertaining and an art
form of its own.
From the beginning to the end of this 2 day project, only a handful
of people actually saw this large scale piece being made and now
that the mural does not exist any more,
we want to circulate the film all over the web so that as many
people as possible can actually see this live art taking shape.
Making it accessible to all.

As part of a project through YCN, called Music Inspired Art, run by Becks, I have been designing and painting murals to cover several pubs. the Old Blue Last in old street has been transformed into a Quadruplet of big love cats ( thanks to The Cure for inspiration, and Jiggery Pokery for helping me with this design)............ The Amersham Arms in New Cross has been wrapped in a glorious kaliedascopic graphic equalizer ( thanks to Kraftwerk for the inspiration). Chrissie Abbot then tackled the final pub, The Lock Tavern in Camden, with an array of diamonds and pearls ( thanks to Prince on that one)....check them out, have a drink and then they look even better on the way out.........

I was lucky enough to help my good friends Jiggery Pokery on an event they art directed for Vauxhall, it was a complete transformation of Village underground in Old street, into a cosmic landscape complete with mirrorball cars, tesalated teepees, spinning eyes, a roller skating rink, and glitter spectrums, not to mention my glowing painted car. All in all it was a great success well done to the girls themselves and all the fine helpers....
