The concept I came up was was to represent design movements of the 20th century through specially arranged plates of appropriate food, finished with hand cut paper tablecloth backgrounds.

I was commissioned by Mexican restaurant chain Wahaca, to design artwork to adorn the interior of their new restaurant, in Bluewater, Kent. I was given a lot of freedom, and really enjoyed the project. Creating abstract totems, vibrant linear patterns and a wall of floating designs using paint and perspex.

Myself and YCN have been planning to transform the exterior of their building for some time. I came up with the idea of turning the structure into a giant one armed bandit ( slot machine ) the weatherproof materials used include Correx (corrugated plastic) vinyl and nylon rope. As a winner of a competition run by YCN LIVE, I was flown to New York to create an installation in the Soho offices of Another Anomaly. The idea is that blocks have been pulled out of the wall, to reveal the word YES, and a positive world behind. Thanks to everyone involved, it was a smashing trip.

Ideas Illustrated is a new quarterly publication from YCN celebrating new creative talent and ideas.
Each issue also serves as an overall canvas for an illustrator invited by YCN to respond to its theme and create artwork to pepper its pages. This final visual layer is printed as a special 5th colour, and for the ‘Money’ issue I was invited to pick a colour, i chose (Pantone 3385c) and to take a coin on a journey.
The Publication also includes bespoke advertising created by Myself for Beck’s.

I helped out my good friends Jiggery Pokery on an event they art directed for Vauxhall, it was a complete transformation of Village underground in Old street, into a cosmic landscape complete with mirrorball cars, tesalated teepees, spinning eyes, a roller skating rink, and glitter spectrums, not to mention my glowing painted car.

Music video for Love Struck by Man Like Me; Art Direction and concept in collaboration with Jiggery Pokery. We based the concept on some naff pop-up cards that Lauren picked up on a trip to India. Knowing of the OTT, colourful, kitsch look that Man Like Me are all about, we pitched a life size, handmade and pop-up card environment where the band members could move from card to card and interact with each to bring the narrative from the song Lovestruck to life.

Londons Mothership Group, the capitals most forward thinking bar group ( Queen of Hoxton, The Book Club) joined forces with Central Illustration Agency and collective Pirates to create, perhaps Londons, very first Pop-Up-Bar-as-Art-Installation project. To be held in the heart of Clerkenwell for three months between May and August 2010
Pirates have taken complete artistic control of the old building and have shaped the project around Clerkenwells printing history - the site itself was an old factory building specialising in silver lithography. The idea is all about type, be it modern and bright or traditional and sophisticated. Everywhere you look will be covered in words and letters of all sorts of shapes and sizes, some painted, some in relief and some full on 3D The toilets will be transformed into an interactive blackboard, giant wooden letters will protrude from the ceiling, and upbeat catch- phrases will cover every inch of the bar, not to mention mock printing presses spewing out reams of paper, all making Pop Up Pirates a walk in wardrobe of letterforms.

It took about 20 hours and though a challenge, was alot of fun!, the smooth white surface taking the thick colour like a dream. Thanks to Matt, and all involved !
